E-mail: cocosideral@hotmail.com / jaraguamulungu@yahoo.com.br BIOGRAPHY: CACAU ARCOVERDE (Claudio José Moreira de Silva): Percussionist, Singer, Instrument-maker, and Visual Artist, coordinates Workshops of Brazilian Rhythms, instrument making and cultural studies in Universities and cultural spaces in Brazil, and was a celebrated guest artist of the Cleveland Museum of Art and Parade the Circle Celebration (Spring, 2007) in Cleveland. His work includes Afro-Brazilian Rhythms, and he was one of the members of the first formation of the Cordel do Fogo Encantado & he has played with Paulo Moura, Luís Dilláh, Edson Denizard, Markú Ribas, Chico César, Osvaldinho of Acordeom,Calos Zens,Zabe da Loca, Dominguinhos, Carlos Malta, Rita Ribeiro, Renato Braz, Cátia da Franca, Lauro Lellis, Coco Kalungo,Tirinete Tracua,Coco Maracaja For the last seven years, Cacau has coordinated the musical project, Jaraguá Mulungú, with which has has recorded a CD that has received National and International acclaim. Jaraguá Mulungú participated in the World Forum of Culture (2004) showing visual arts and Musical Instruments of Percussion, and presented a musical show in the central Stage in the artistic display. Jaraguá Mulungú was one of 50 presentations selected from 1410 bands enrolled in the Projeto Rumos of Music 2004/2005 of Cultural Itaú. Cacau recorded a CD with Toques & Cantares of Tibau of the South / RN, Project Nação Potiguar and in the CD of the Cha de Zabumba & Fred Andrade (FOOT), 2004. He participated in 07/2005 Workshop of Samba de Coco recently in the Circo Navegador in the Universidade São Marcos & Instituto Brincante of Antônio Nóbrega in the Vila Madalena in SP He was invited to represent Brazil in II Latin-American Festival of Instrumental Music in Rio de Janeiro in the end of the month of September of 2005 with Jaraguá Mulungú; Carlos malts; Chip Hand; Pagoda Jazz & other groups of the Latin-America. Cacau has traveled to the United States as an esteemed percussionist in the Second International Festival of Tap on Broadway with tap dancer, Valéria Pinheiro. During this trip, he combined live Afro-Brazilian percussion with live traditional tap dance in workshops in Chelsea Studio, Off Broadway. He was selected to participate in the exhibition, "The Office Arts" with the theme "Art & Spirituality,” in the Gallery of T.A.O in Florida.
